FOAF(friend of a friend)는 XML과 RDF로 정의된 자기 명세서 작성 어휘로, 자신의 이름, 이메일 주소 같은 개인 신상 정보와 함께 친구들의 목록을 포함한다.[1] FOAF로 작성한 개인정보는 XML과 RDF로 기술되므로 각종 소프트웨어에 의해 자동으로 처리될 수 있다.
FOAF (an acronym of friend of a friend) is a machine-readable ontology describing persons, their activities and their relations to other people and objects.
